Peace Bytes Youth Forum has first meeting of 2020

This week saw the year’s first Peace Bytes Youth Forum meeting, made up of young people from across Northern Ireland taking part in the Peace Bytes programme.

The Youth Forum currently involves students from Glengormley High School, Edmund Rice College, St Pat’s College Maghera, Lisneal College and Oakgrove Integrated College. It represents a broad mix of young people from both Antrim & Newtownabbey and Derry-Londonderry, the two main delivery areas for Peace Bytes. Participants gather to discuss shared issues and challenges, as well as giving us feedback on their experiences with Peace Bytes.

During the meeting, the group bonded well over a series of icebreakers and some new friendships were formed. We then worked with them to explore the various issues in their respective communities and discussed possible solutions, as well as looking at how young people in different communities often share the same problems.
